WRM Webinar: Gender Dimensions of Child Labor in the Mining Sector

This event marks the first in a series of Women’s Rights and mining virtual webinars. The event will be hosted by KIT Royal Tropical Institute via Microsoft Teams on the 16 June 14:00- 16:00 CET. The session looks to bring together a diverse group of stakeholders to collectively create awareness of the gender concerns of child labour in the ASM sector.


To address these issues, the webinar will try to answer the following questions:

-Why does the problem of child labour exist in the mining sector and what is its gendered character?

-What are the barriers and opportunities to address the problem?

-What evidence is there about impactful, scalable and sustainable gender-transformative interventions addressing child labour in the mining sector?
